The Same Watari As Always

Dear author,

Thank you for writing for me! I really love doing RSoI and I'm excited about this year. Some of this is recycled from last year's letter but there's a new ship and some new stuff here too.

Here are some things I like:

• Humor
• Friendship and found family and friends with benefits
• The international cast of YoI! I love all the opportunities to explore different languages and cultures and habits and hobbies, especially food and dancing.
• Everyone here is good at what they do, in fact, they're some of the best in the world.

My other exchange letters will give you more specific likes. PWP would also work for any of these prompts: Olympic sex parties, sex pollen, go crazy. If you have an idea that's not in this list of prompts you think I'd like, please, go for it! I'd generally like happier stories (though I'm happy to drown in angst if there's a happy ending) and if couples get broken up, I'd prefer to have any stress and heartbreak in the past. (I'm fine with amicable exes.)

DNWs are:

• No smut with anyone younger than Plisetsky is at the start of canon.
• No non-con/dubcon.
• No infidelity (open relationships are fine).
• No MPREG or a/b/o. I'd prefer no trans* headcanons for these characters.

Otabek Altin/Leo de la Iglesia

I am completely in love with the idea of Otabek and Leo getting to know each other while Otabek trained in the US, and I think there has to be at least a little bit of trust (or Leo is just really that good at social media, but I prefer the former). Leo is so open and friendly and Otabek is so reserved, and I love that contrast, especially if Leo gets Otabek to open up. Plot ideas, shippy and less so:

• I love the thought that both Leo and Otabek come from backgrounds where there's a lot of culinary mixing (Korean and Russian influence in Kazakhstan, Tex-Mex and all the other Mexican-American foods) and like the thought of them experimenting together. With food. Okay, maybe with more than food too.
• Pre-canon FWB and/or first adolescent fumblings
• Learning from each other, even though they have very different styles
• Catching up at 4CC or Worlds post-canon (or at any other competition)
• Snowed in after a competition; the classic sharing a room/bed trope
• Sharing music, arguing about music...do either of them play instruments?

Otabek Altin/Phichit Chulanont

Otabek and Phichit are the groundbreakers; they've got little if any state support behind them and they're both invested in supporting their country/spreading skating in their countries. I'm dying to know what they think of each other, if they ever hang out, if people try to get them to talk about each other as The Pioneers and they kind of roll their eyes or if they're proud of each other too.

• Hanging out in Hatsetsu and/or bonding over their ridiculous friends named Yuri
• Stuck at the airport together
• When did they first meet? Juniors? Otabek's first 4CC as a senior? I want to knoooow.
• National pride! What do they love about their countries, and how do they talk about it/share it with each other? What about their routines (in the canon season, they're both shouting out their homes)?
• A new photo shoot for Mizuno (or another sponsor), the sillier and more catastrophic the better

Phichit Chulanont/Celestino Cialdini

I just love them. Is it the size difference? The age difference? The way they have very different personalities but clearly get on like a house on fire? IDK, IDK. Anyway, I like how much they respect each other, and they seem to treat each other pretty equally despite the coach/student thing. 

• Celestino's early days in Bangkok.
• Phichit gets Celestino drunk, maybe to bang him, but things get more complicated than he plans (he gets an attack of conscience? Celestino falls asleep? Celestino's more enthusiastic than Phichit planned for?)
• Getting caught together in a rainstorm
• This is another pairing that could be super cute cooking together, actually
• All the 'meeting the in-laws' trope. Does Celestino have a kid? (Is the kid older than Phichit?) What about Phichit's siblings or parents?

Christophe Giacometti/Kent Parson (Check Please!)

Have two charts. Here is the Yuri!!! on Ice height/age chart; Chris is 25 and 183 cm. Here is the Check Please! chart for the Samwell Hockey Team and Kent. Kent is 23-ish and 178 cm. Chris is one of the 'old men' in skating and towers over a lot of his peers; Kent is on the young and short side of his peer group. They are so different and they also have so much in common! I have sailed on ships for far less and I think they could have a lot of fun together. (And boy would they look hot.) Ideas:

• Shenanigans at the Olympics
• Kent comes out and ends up at an international Pride event or photoshoot
• They've been off-and-on FWB for years (and maybe end up catching feelings?)
• They share a common sponsor and have to wine and dine a representative together

I don't care if the setting is more like YoI or Check Please! in terms of homophobia, weird quirks of the season, etc, but I would prefer to not have homophobia as a focus of the story. DNW Kent with any serious mental illness.

I received Best Roomie Ever, a delightfully porny first-time buddies fic with Phichit and Yuuri.

I wrote Come Get Me, Baby, We're Not Getting Younger, absolutely the best Phichit/Yurio futurefic on AO3 titled with Nikki Minaj lyrics.

...yes, it is also the only Phichit/Yurio futurefic on AO3 titled with Nikki Minaj lyrics, sue me.

And I wrote the long fantasy AU Shall We Skate? with Phichit/Celestino. It is long. It has hamsters.

I am trying to get back into the DW groove again. It is...well, it might happen?
