In case you're wondering about what I like in general, this is basically what I stick on every Yuletide letter:
Here are some things I like: Humor, drama, snark, romance, smiling in the face of absurdity. (You can probably tell from my requests.)
Here are some things I don't like: Character bashing/needless sideswipes at characters, noncon. I read some dubcon but am weirdly fussy about it, so if you don't already know me it'd probably be easiest not to write it.
I am agnostic about porn: if you want to write it, great! If you don't want to write it, great! I have indicated pairings in my requests where I have them but I like gen too. (In fact, Yuletide is one of my favorite places to get my gen fic.)
I love friendship, found families, and all the fandoms I nominated.
Prompts are just suggestions. Feel free to write from your own inspirations!
Onmyouji | The Yin-Yang Master (Movies)
There are two of these movies, set in Heian era Japan. They're sort of supernatural detective stories, but don't have the hurried pace of most detective movies. They take time to just soak in the world, the atmosphere, and the UST between Hiromasa (the Innocent Dorky one) and Abe no Seimei (the possibly-immortal Chess Master type). They are delightful.
I would be happy with anything set inside or after canon. I love just about everything about this canon. The movies are such lovely little jewels, and I love the little hints about the larger world beyond (both the human world and the spirit world). Hiromasa and Abe no Seimei are delightful together, whether they're solving mysteries or just having conversations Hiromasa only half-understands over tea. Shipfic or genfic would be fine; I ship them like crazy but I also really enjoy the UST between them and their odd, sweet friendship.
Prompts: Casefic would be fun, of course.
I'd love something that would get Hiromasa and Abe no Seimei in the same unfamiliar situation together - like the 'pretending to be married/undercover' trope.
Gravity Falls
Mabel, Dipper, Stan and Wendy
If Twin Peaks was PG rated and set in the 2000s, it might look like Gravity Falls, a cartoon currently airing on Disney Channel/Disney XD in the US. It's weird, it's funny, it's scary, it's often two or all three of those at once. I love the unshakable bond between Dipper and Mabel, and Grunkle Stan is just great. Wendy's perspective never fails to crack me up, too. (No Pinecest, please, and I don't ship Dipper and Wendy.) I really like the whole cast and just picked my four favorites.
Prompts: I would love to see a story set before canon. (How much weirder is the rest of the world than Gravity Falls?
A story about any of the weird stuff in Gravity Falls without any of the above characters would be fine too -- what does the Hide-Behind do when it's not, you know, hiding behind?
A 'day in the life' story would be awesome too--just seeing everyone working at the shack, fighting over what to watch on TV, getting suckered into one of Mabel's crazy/huge projects.
Wreck-It Ralph
No characters chosen
I just finished this movie and found it an unparalleled delight. I loved the characters, the meticulous world-building, and that completely earned third-act twist. ALL OF IT, Yuletide writer.
Prompts: I would love to see more of the intra-game worlds. We see a few 'homeless' game sprites, but is that what happens to all of them? Do they find other jobs? What's the day-to-day life of a surge protector.
In a completely different direction, I'd love to see more of the characters after the events of the movie (I feel like their lives before have been pretty well covered.) I do ship Calhoun and Felix and would love to see her dealing with pre-wedding stress and the other characters all working to help her.
I'm going to put an extra spoiler-y request at my Dear Yuletide Writer letter, so no one gets spoiled by reading my requests! Spoilery request: I would also love to see Turbo's transformation into King Candy. The whole 'using the Konami code to go inside the code' sequence was pretty awesome, and I'd love to see how Turbo managed to survive and up his game.
RH Plus
Any character(s)
RH Plus is a 13-episode J-Drama you can find on YouTube (and CrunchyRoll I think). It is about angsty vampires, most of them young, all of them pretty, most of them ambiguously gay. (The yard sale episode is my favorite. I...suspect this says a lot about me.)
I love everyone. I ship EVERYONE. (Yes, Ami and Makoto's hot dad are on this list.) Of course, I do have favorites: Michitaka/Kiyoi, Masakazu/Konoe. And Ageha, sad little, sweet little puppy he is. I love that he was the one who brought Kiyoi back to living again.
Prompts:
So Ageha is, as far as I can tell, biologically compelled to stay with Kiyoi right now and find other vampires painful to be around. What happens as the younger vampires gain power? (Go angsty, go funny...but I'd prefer this to have a happy or happy-ish ending.)
Ageha and Makoto go to college.
More dorky cliched comedy tropes: The boys view cherry blossoms (imagine Kioyi's expression if the wrong person tries to take his spot), a beach episode, bodyswaps.
